Young ladies definitely love cuddly soft toys, especially the teddy bear, which has always been hot among those young Oriental girls. Here comes a cellphone that is wrapped within a teddy bear, which surely attracts the love of all young girls and even some young boys.
The teddy bear-shaped cellphone is the new product of Willcom which is called Kuma Phone which means bear phone, and they’ve demonstrated it at the 2008 Good Design Expo in Tokyo. It isn’t just an ordinary cellphone that’s been stuffed into a toy bear. It’s been designed to present full “bear” interactions to the users.
The user interface is bear-specific, such as making a call is to squeeze one of the four paws of the teddy bear for one of your speed dial numbers. Answering or hanging up the call needs you to press the bear’s tail. It’s like getting this little teddy bear tortured. But if you’re not a careful user, I’m sure the teddy bear will start losing all its hair after it’s been used for a couple of months. About the price? It’s more expensive than your iPhone 3G which carries a price tag of $500.
